FAQs

What Will My First Visit Be Like?

Your first visit is a chance for our dentist, Dr. Allison Reed, and our welcoming team to meet you and help you feel at home. You will bring your patient forms with you or fill them out in the waiting area before your appointment begins. We use these forms to understand your dental history and important information about you.

In general, you’ll also have an exam with X-rays and a dental cleaning during your first visit. Dr. Reed will talk to you about your oral health, your dental goals and whether she sees the need for follow-up treatment.

How Often Will I Come to the Dentist’s Office?

Once you start your visits with our office, we hope to be your home for long-term care. The standard is to visit your dentist for exams and cleanings every six months, which is usually covered by dental insurance plans. Generally, one of these visits includes X-rays each year.

Beyond your checkup visits that help to maintain your oral health, you can make appointments to help reach your dental goals, whether you’re looking for teeth straightening, whitening, athletic guards or a solution to a concern like missing teeth.

We may also recommend treatment to address problems we notice during your exam, such as gum disease or a cavity. In this case, we would schedule a follow-up appointment for your treatment services. Further, we’re always here if you experience a new symptom, such as mouth pain, and need to make an appointment.

What Happens During Regular Dental Visits?

During one of your visits each year, we take X-rays to get a better view of your teeth, gums and jaws. One of our dental hygienists performs a professional cleaning to take care of buildup and promote good oral health. Dr. Reed performs an exam and talks to you about services for dental problems or goals. Our team may also provide advice to help you best take care of your teeth and gums from home.

Do You Take My Insurance?

Our office accepts most dental insurance, including some out-of-network plans. We accept Cigna, Aetna, Delta Dental PPO, Guardian, Principal and others. We also accept patients without dental insurance. Plans vary in the amount of coverage for various services, so you may still owe a copayment or coinsurance. We have various ways to pay, including financing available. You can learn more through our Financing and Insurance page.

Are You Accepting Patients?

Yes, we are accepting new patients. We care for patients of all ages, providing them with exams, cleanings and other preventive dentistry, as well as a variety of services to treat dental problems, protect the teeth and gums, and improve the appearance of a person’s smile.

What Kinds of Services Do You Offer?

Our services include general preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Preventive care includes visits for cleanings, exams, fillings and other services that maintain good oral health and help prevent major concerns. Our restorative dentistry includes services to solve missing teeth, such as dentures, bridges or implant restoration. We provide cosmetic services to straighten teeth, whiten teeth, make minor corrections with bonding, or add crowns or restorations.

How Much Does Treatment Cost?

Your twice-yearly cleaning/exam visits are usually covered by dental insurance, although they may come with an office fee depending on your plan. Otherwise, the cost varies by the type of dental service and the specifications of your custom treatment plan, such as the number of missing teeth or the material of your restoration.

Our office thrives on communication, so our dentist will discuss treatment options with you and our receptionist can help you determine your insurance coverage and discuss payment options. We want you to feel comfortable communicating with us, and we respect your choices for your own dental care.
